Former Arsenal XI

9 07 2012

I was sat at home last night wallowing in self pity over the looming prospect of losing our captain and best player for what feels like the millionth season running. ¬†Well maybe it isn’t exactly like that but it is certainly how it feels sometimes!

I decided that the best thing to do would be to play a little game with myself, no nothing like that ;). I decided to try and field the best XI I could dream up based on players that Arsenal have either sold or released in recent years.

The only rules I obeyed were that it had to be a 4-3-3 as that is what we are currently playing and all players have to currently have footballer as their job description.

Below is my attempt, I would be interested to see what others amongst you come up with

football formation

Not too shabby really, whilst it might not be a team that would win you the Champions League it would have a good go at competing!

Harry Redknapp announces new position

17 06 2012

Not even a week after Harry Redknapp was sacked by Spurs it has emerged that he has already started in his new role.

Granted it isn’t quite the England job but then there aren’t many big vacancies going at the moment and I guess in these recessionary times you need to be realistic.

Personally I can see it now, Ol’ Twitchy standing outside Gregs with Rosie trying to get punters to dig deep and spare him a quid.

Well done Redknapp you utter mug, this is what happens when you get too big for your boots.

Every cloud has a silver lining…

21 05 2012

So on Saturday night we had some friends over to watch Bayern Munich take on Chelsea in the final of the Champions League.

Being sort of neutral (I merely despise Chelsea) the match had the potential to be a real snooze fest.

However in the end it wasn’t that bad and thanks to a Chelsea equaliser taken in typical annoying fashion we saw extra time and penalties.

The net result as I’m sure you will all be aware by now is that Chelsea won and are the champions of Europe…Puke.

However the silver lining to this otherwise tragic tale is that Chelsea will now be gifted a place in next years competition… at the expense of “The best team in North London” Spurs

Ahahahahahaha

Ahem excuse my brief lapse into manic laughter. It is just too damn funny though.
