Arsenal sign 30M a year kit deal with Puma

8 05 2013

After months of speculation it has finally come to light that Arsenal will be severing their 20 year connection with Nike when the current kit deal expires in 2014.

It has long been suspected that the Gunners would make the switch to Adidas if a new deal couldn’t be agreed with Nike however it would seem they have been pipped to the post by rivals Puma with a staggering 30 million plus a year deal potentially worth 170M over the 5 year course of the contract.

This deal will dwarfs Liverpool’s 25mill a year arrangement with Warrior and see the Gunners sitting top of the tree for kit deals in English sport.

The news of this massive new kit deal follows hot on the heels of Emirates renewing their sponsorship of Arsenal with a bumper new deal.

Purple Pain – Arsenal release new away kit

12 07 2012

Morning to everyone from a very, wet, windy and un-summer like Ireland.
The rain really is lashing down sideways, still at least it isn’t purple.

Nope that honour is reserved for the newly unveiled Arsenal away kit for 2012/2013.
What is there to say about this that isn’t blatantly obvious? Not a lot really, it is really, really, really purple.

The only¬†mitigating factor is that at least it isn’t the bright, radioactive pink which our keepers will be proudly sporting away from home. Wow is that thing bright,¬†It is a good thing that young Szcz is so secure in his¬†own masculinity.¬†

In what is a rather odd move even Nike have come out and stated that the kit is rubbish – literally.

The new kit which the lads seem so happy to be sporting¬† is manufactured from Nike’s ground-breaking recycled polyester, making it their most environmentally friendly kit ever produced, reducing energy consumption by up to 30 per cent compared to traditional polyester.

Can’t say it will be high on my shopping list this Summer….
