Goosey Goosey Gander…

11 08 2010

A couple of weeks ago my geese moved house.

They weren’t aware that this was gonig to happen and at the time seemed rather put out by it all, but then I can’t blame them.

They were rudely awakened and put into a crate before they could bully their way out of the door of their house and then got to spend a fun filled car journey listening to the top 40 hit list interspersed with my ranting at the various at dodgy drivers I came across.

On getting back to my house I remembered that I hadn’t bothered to make them a new home in advance so then in the sweltering heat had to knock something together out of some breeze blocks and corrugated metal… mmmm attractive.

Mishaps aside though they have now been here a week and other than missing their normal quacky companions they have settled in well.

They are enjoying having the free reign of the garden and after a couple of days managed to find the hen house, this has been an immense source of glee for the geese as they now have something to herd around in front of them in their oh so bossy fashion.

They have also realised that the baby bath full of water is for them rather then some mysterious phantom baby that is tardy regarding bath time. They love it unfortunately it isn’t big enough for both of them at once but they have become very good at sharing and taking turns.

As soon as WordPress decides it likes me again I will make a point of uploading some of the many piccies and videos of our new residents.

Spring Cleaning

29 04 2010

Well it is very definitely spring and I have decided to do a little online spring cleaning.

I have decided to collate together my various different email addresses (a mighty 9?!?) into to one main address, tom-webster@live.com, so from now on feel free to send all your fan mail, marriage proposals and pay-pal donations here.

I also decided that I don’t want to run two separate blogs; especially since this one is such a jumble of various different topics!

As such I am going to be taking my various beer related musings from there existing home at Bottoms Up and moving them all here where they can reside alongside paedophile priests, spicy food, cute ducklings and my online gaming tales of woe.

Spring continues unabated despite paedophile priests and MMO troubles

Last week we had some new baby chicks born just in time for easter; in the end it was only 3 that managed to hatch, mostly as the hen that was brooding on them lost interest in the eggs once she had three little walking bundles of fluff to look after.

However my partner candled all of the eggs and found that at least one of them was still viable, so they got rushed into the house and placed into the incubator as quickly as possible. This morning there was a cheeping from the incubator and there was the arrival of rather a strange looking chick.

Except of course she has decided that my partner is her mother and refuses to be away from her and screams if she puts her down….ahh the joys of spring
