Campbell receives work permit but further loan spell still a possibility

I’m actually quite excited about this.
Since we first signed Campbell I have been hopeful that he actually might make the grade in the red and white.

I really wouldn’t mind it if we kept him around the club until January and gave him playing time in the cup competitions.

Almost two years since he officially became an Arsenal player, Joel Campbell finally received the news that he had long been waiting for when it was confirmed last night that he has been granted a work permit enabling him to play in England.

The Costa Rican winger, who has scored seven goals in 25 senior outings for his country, has spent the ensuing period out on loan, first with Lorient in France and then with Real Betis last season. Despite being a regular on the right flank for both of his temporary sides, the athletic and powerful youngster failed to find the scoresheet with regularity, scoring a combined total of just five league goals in two years.
